North Korea has officially confirmed its first COVID-19 outbreak.

북한이 그것의 첫번째 Covid-19 발병을 공식적으로 확인했다 

State media reported the BA.2 Omicron variant had been detected in Pyongyang.

국영 언론은 BA.2 오미크론 변이가 평양에서 발견됐었다고 보도했다. 

"There has been the biggest emergency incident in the country, with a hole in our emergency quarantine front, that has been kept safely over the past two years and three months since February 2020, " the report said.

"최대 비상 사건이 그것의 2020년 2월 이래로 지난 2년 3개월 동안 안전하게 지켜왔던 비상 격리 전선 안에서 구멍과 함께 국내에서 발생했다" 보고서는 인용했다.

There were no details on case numbers or possible sources of infection.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has chaired a Workers' Party meeting to discuss responses to the first outbreak.
